but if you want to go far, go together.”
The Scriptures, and especially the early church in the New Testament, hold such a robust picture of life together, deeply connected stories, and formative mentorship across generations.
Meanwhile, we live in a city known for its pervasive loneliness, and we worship in a Western church climate known for its inability to form deeply rooted disciples of Jesus.
While Small Groups communities vitally provide connection and discussion for people at all stages of the journey, we feel a need to help create an environment for people who also want to invite the Spirit to do deeper work; healing patterns of brokenness, growing the fruit of the Spirit in us, weeding out sin, stewarding our resources and gifts for the Kingdom, the list goes on.
Triads are an attempt to follow the Jesus model of life-on-life discipleship, and put into practice His radical invitation to community in Mark 3, when He looked at the people seated around Him and said:
“Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
As Jesus had around Him the 12, but especially John and Peter.
As Paul journeyed all of life’s highs and lows with Silas, Timothy, Titus.
As Barnabas brought along John Mark, despite an imperfect testimony.
Triads are our attempt to bring together groupings of 3 men or 3 women who want to honestly learn from each other and spur one another on, led by a trusted Triad mentor.
Across generations, with honesty, vulnerability, and trust.
Offering wisdom, zeal, fresh perspective, support, challenge, prayer, and loyal companionship.
Once a month, twice if you’re feeling zealous, connecting over coffee or a meal and praying through the real moments of life.
We were made to journey together.
We recognize that for many, this kind of community already exists in your life. Praise God, and keep at it!
